Things to Do in Kerrville
Our favorite ways to spend a few days in the Texas Hill Country, from the people who live here.
On the river
The Guadalupe River runs right through Kerrville, and it's the heart of a summer stay.
Guadalupe River
Swim, paddle, tube and fish. Calm stretches through town are good for kayaks and paddleboards.
Kerrville River Trail
A paved trail along the river through Louise Hays Park, good for walks, runs and bikes.
Kerrville-Schreiner Park
A city park on the edge of town with hiking and biking trails, river access and camping.
In town
Downtown is about five minutes from both homes.
Downtown Kerrville
Local restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and galleries in the historic downtown.
Museum of Western Art
Paintings and sculpture of the American West, a good stop on a hot afternoon.
Live music & events
Concerts, rodeos and shows through the year, plus the Kerrville Folk Festival each spring.
Day trips
Kerrville is a good home base for the rest of the Hill Country.
Fredericksburg & the wineries
Main Street shopping and dozens of Hill Country wineries, about 30 minutes away.
Lost Maples State Natural Area
Hiking and famous fall color in the maple canyons, about an hour west.

Small river towns up the Guadalupe, with the Hill Country Arts Foundation and Stonehenge II in Ingram.
